Aim: to teach new students the philosophy & practice of yoga, to be able to practice safely and with confidence.


Objectives: at the end of the course students will be able to name and demonstrate surya namaskara (sun salutation).


Students will be able to name and practice a key asana in each of the categories of sitting; kneeling; lying; inverted backbend and standing.


Students will have an understanding of the use of breath in yoga and be able to practice two pranayamas safely.
